Installation and Deinstallation :: Installation
Before installing AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic, check whether your computer fulfils all the minimum system requirements. If so, you can install AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic.
Before starting installation
Close your email program. It is also recommended to end all running applications.
Make sure that no other virus protection solutions are installed. The automatic protection functions of various security solutions may interfere with each other.
Starting installation
If you have downloaded AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic from the Internet, open the relevant file.
If you are installing from a CD-ROM, insert the CD in the CD-ROM drive.
The installation program runs in self-explanatory dialog mode. Every window contains a certain selection of buttons to control the installation process.
The most important buttons are assigned the following functions:
OK: Confirm action.
Abort: Abort action.
Next: Go to next step.
Back: Go to previous step.
Installation modules
The following modules can be installed by AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic. The relevant module is installed by clicking on the appropriate box (check mark set) or not installed (no check mark).

The AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic Guard runs in the background. It monitors and repairs, where necessary, files during operations such as open, write and copy in on-access mode.
